Emerald Environmental
INSPECTIONS
EEI is licensed and certified by the US EPA, State of New York, and the City of New York to perform asbestos and mold inspections and abatement project monitoring to include area air sampling.
EEI is your independent environmental inspection and analysis company. Since we do not perform the abatement of hazardous material, you can be assured your results will be unbiased.

Asbestos
consists of six naturally occurring minerals resulting in a material with desirable physical properties such as sound absorption, resistance to fire, heat, electricity and chemical damage, and affordibility. As such, asbestos is used in buidling and electrical insulation, spray-on fire proofing, and to reinforce materials like stucco, plaster, concrete, and sealants.
The prolonged inhalation of asbestos fibers can cause serious illnesses. Hence, abatement of asbestos containing material (ACM) is required by NYS law prior to demolition or renovation of material found to contain asbestos.

Mold
is a fungus that can grow on any organic surface as long as moisture and oxygen are present. To control mold, it is necessary to control the moisture inside your home.
Mold spores are a common component of household and workplace dust, however, in large quantities, it can cause allergic reactions and respiratory problems. "Black" mold can be very dangerous after long term exposure causing bleeding in the lungs and has been linked to infant deaths.
